The third and final installment in a trilogy of stories following fictional U.S. Navy fighter pilot and former TOPGUN instructor Jim “Flip” Wilson in high adventure in the air and on the seas. The setting for Declared Hostile is the South China Sea.
Fight Fight—so named for a Chinese proverb—continues with Flip and friends, now in a new theatre of operations. Hozer continues to wow the reader with almost unbelievable carrier operations in a limited scale conflict with a peer adversary in a contentious part of the world—both in the story and in real life.
Hozer imagines how a mostly-naval slugfest between the U.S. and China would transpire, suggesting new and diabolical weapons and continuing the human drama side of naval aviation. Like a Marvel movie, once the action begins it continues nearly to the end in a breathtaking pace that will have the reader riveted from page to page. Will Flip and friends return once more in a fourth instalment…?
If you enjoy naval aviation and imagining what a conflict in the South China Sea might look like, you’ll love Declared Hostile.
